How we work

grant thorp is both an interior design and a workplace design practice. Our clients are either downsizing or growing: refurbishing existing buildings or relocating and refitting a building to suit their business. In the first instance we help evaluate potential relocation sites with office agents for suitability.

Our involvement with the client begins with a detailed discussion about their current business, their working practices, ongoing initiatives for change and their aspirations. Better use of space and the provision of varied working environments can be a catalyst for improved business practices.

We draw up initial space plans and concept design proposals that introduce new ideas for using the space and facilities. This is followed by detailed design and specifications.

We produce a complete design and specification for the interior fitout of a building to include all finishes, fittings, partitioning, furniture and lighting, with due consideration of I.T.C. and services.

We design the workplace incorporating the following facilities: reception, conference, meeting, training, dining, breakout, kitchens, toilets, showers, restrooms, openplan and cellular office space, and backroom facilities such as postroom, server and archive.

We support the project team Project Manager, Quantity Surveyors, M and E consultants, Structural Surveyors and IT specialists during the construction process. We will continue to work with the client on future reorganisations.
